Hi guys

i was out bead shopping today and bought a mixed pack of silver lined beads, i couldnt see the beads very well but saw some beads i thought i could use so bought a pack for £5.30

I got home and opened the pack to find that 1/2 the beads had major chips and cracks in them with some having even had big bits broken off and in the bottom of the bag.

I estimate the bag value when bought individually about £7 so there was a discount. There was no sign to say "seconds" or "chipped beads" or anything like that and i am wondering should i take them back or just say "thats what i get for buying discounted beads, i should have known better".

what would you do?

I would definitely take them back. If they didn't tell you they were damaged/seconds that is wrong. I might expect for a cheap bag of beads may be one or two with chips but half the beads in the bag - no way. Now march back to that shope and demand they replace them with whole beads or you want your money back!

best regards

I agree with catherine emma. Discounted goods are one thing, they may be something a shop is not stocking anymore and is selling off cheap, but if the beads are damaged they should be clearly marked as damaged. Then you can make up your mind whether you want to buy them or not, knowing exactly what it is you are buying.

I agree I would take them back. If 1/2 are chipped then you only have £3.50's worth of beads, and no discount.

Definitely take them back. There should've been a warning that half the bag was broken or chipped. It's too bad about the ones you could've used, but the refun will let you buy something you really CAN use that isn't broken!

Definitely take them back. The defects/faults were not pointed out to you before you bought them.To keep them seems like a waste of money...

Take them back and give the shop a chance to deal with it. If the beads were bought in already bagged the shop might not have been aware of how many were broken.
