Just a suggestion but have you tried your local scrap yard I got a roll of roof flashing which is approx 10m long 5cm wide and 1mm thick for far far less than I would pay anywhere else. I have bought all my copper from the scrap yard for the last 3 years and I can highly recommend that you take a trip to see what they have.
Alternatively your local builders merchants will stock copper sheet in rolls in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Norma - that's a fantastic idea. I know it's a no-go with the scrap dealers - OH takes stuff to them regularly (he's a roofer) - mostly lead. But, I do have a few builders merchants around here, and I'll definatlly look into what they have!

I'm wanting it about .5mm to 1mm thick - so nothing too dramatic. The search goes on.

Have you tried any stained glass supply places? If there's one near you then they may well stock it. When I was looking for stained glass things myself a while back I didn't find any online shops which were that great but

Not exactly what you're looking for as this is a soft copper, but this is a fabulous product for experimenting with!
