I've been directed here from another website by Delta, who thinks I should be able to get help here.

I would like some advice please.

My artist friend designed and drew this cross necklace, I would like to get it made for her as a present. I was quoted about £300 from a couple of jewellery makers!

I'm not fussed about what it's made of, infact I'd prefer using coloured glass rather than stones, as it's the look that is important, not the purity of the metal etc. She doesn't wear jewellery, so obviously I don't want to pay horrendous prices for something that will just hang in her room.

Would anyone be happy comissioning the cross for me? Or give me any advice on where to go from here? I don't make jewellery myself and don't have a creative bone in my body!

I'm afraid I don't do metal work so can't help out, but hopefully you will get some useful replies soon!

I don't know about the cost, but obviously it will depend on the size and materials. You should also expect to pay a 50% deposit up front with most commission's, other than that I'm sure you'll get some more in depth replies soon!
