Not sure how to make these into earrings

Sorry about the picture - it's not very clear as I've just taken it with my phone!

I've made a necklace with 3 of these long purple shells and I wanted to make a matching pair of earrings. The only problem is, I'm totally stuck on how to do it!! The hole is horizontal through the top of the shell.

Please help!!

you could put a piece of wire through the hole and fold it up towards the top, wrap one piece of wire round the other and the form a loop at the top
