Has anyone used copper earwires before? I'm a little concerned about putting copper into pierced ears, is it safe? I have loads of copper wire and I now have the EZ Earwire maker and I thought it would be nice to make some matching earrings to go with my copper chainmaille items.

Thanks for that ladies. I will have a go later. Caroline, I bought the Earwire maker from Oaktree Crafts when I went to Uttoxeter Bead Fair, it's really good and ever so easy to use. _________________ Alison

Hiya
Copper is actually Hypoallergenic, and contains no nickel or lead, in fact the hardening component is tin and about 0.03% magnesium. So they are in fact more safe for you than SP or GP on nickel.
Plus some folks believe that copper helps with arthritis as well as heart problems and gout....something to do with the oxide release that is absorbed into the skin.
So all in all I would say you're pretty safe.
Cheers
