I have been trying some chainmaille weaves for a college course I'm doing and would like to put some 'technical' and general information about chainmaille, things like aspect ratio etc. I was wondering whether anyone could recommend a book which is a good introduction and which hopefully I will be able to get from my local library.

Thanks in advance.

One book you could try is Handcrafting Chain and Bead Jewelry by David Scott Plumlee. It's quite widely available. Another is Chain Mail Jewelry by Terry Taylor & Dyson White which is good for beginners apparently. It's not available in my library's catalogue but the other book is, so i'm hoping to get that soon. Or you can get 'Chain mail Jewelry' from the Book depository for £10.79.. (normal price £17.50 I think)
I've seen both books at friends' houses and they look good.

At the library, you may have to reserve the book especially (fee applies) as books on this subject, in my experience are hard to find at libraries.. but you never know! You could get lucky.. once I found 4 beading books in one go! Try searching on the library catalogue on their website to see what they have.

Oh I think another book is called Chains by Becky.

Hope this helps,
Belle Very Happy

Belle

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll have a look for them. It only costs £1 to reserve items at my library, you just don't know how long it will take for them to arrive though.

Pollie

Thanks for the offer, I may take you up on it if I don't have any luck at the Library.

Becky
