Hi Guys

A very old lady came into my store yesterday clutching on to these beads...she needed them re-strung. I could tell they were Venetian (I think?) so asked where she got them? She said that her father had fought for the British in World War 1, and had taken these beads off of a German soldier whilst in France, in around 1916.

If anybody can shed some light on how old they are, or their exact origin, or head me in the right direction to find these answers, I would be most grateful.

Sorry Mark to post but also have no ideas, but they have to be some of the most beautiful beads I have ever seen, even my dis-interested husband liked them.
