|
|
Hi all,
I need some advice for a commission I am doing currently. One of my best mates sister wants me to make her an illusion necklace with a Swarovski pendant. She JUST wants the pendant NO beads other than that on the necklace. She also wants clear thread and a clasp at the back. I showed her a 38mm Swarovski teardrop pendant I had in my stash and she really liked it but I am worried that it will be too heavy if there are no more beads around it?!!!
What size would you use? or how would you balance it out?
Also I usually use the triangular swarovski bails from jilly beads but I am worried that it will look out of place....any ideas or will this be ok do you think?
Also are the 16mm teardrops too big to use as earrings? What bails would you use for them too as earrings?!
Any advice is gratefully recieved. J x |

beadservice has the right sort of bails for earings the ring faces the right way-debbie will tell you if they will fit 16s
not sure about just a pendant on illusion wire-think a pendant in the middle of you neck with nothing iether side will look weird-however needs must-how abot a tube bail to help balance it _________________ pollie

I know the customer is always right(!) but if you wanted an alternative I wear (and sell) a lot of very large Swaro pendants on silver chokers - like this one from JulesGems

It's not an illusian necklace but the wire does kind of fade away when you wear it.
JulesGems are pricey though - the cost has shot up since the first ones I bought - I got some exactly the same but much cheaper from Spangels4Beads at the Newmarket Beadwork Fair but their website doesn't have pics. They also do them in oxidised silver which is lovely!
Let us know how the tube bail works - I might have to try that as well! _________________ jo@aquamarine |

I know what you mean - I'm a beginner at selling and have to bite my tongue to stop myself apologising for the prices sometimes
One good selling point is that you only need one choker and you can use it for as many pendants, big chunky beads etc as you like! I've got one of of Hilary at Beadsite's silver Greek ceramic leaves threaded on my choker today - it is fab, a much softer look than my usual Swaro. A friend who admired it has now bought a choker with the intention of buying a new pendant every payday. Result!! _________________ jo@aquamarine |

Haha! Fabby! I think I have it sorted now anyway, with my experts from UK beaders and Jill at Jillybeads! |
