|
|
I was just thinking about the amazingly wide variety of different types of things we all enjoy making, and I started thinking about not only the wide range of different types of beads we use but also charms.
We use them in bracelets, necklaces and earrings, in brooches, pins and bag charms, we even decorate our wine glasses with them!
So your challenge is to make something featuring charms!
Your creation can be in any colours or materials but must be clearly connected to the challenge theme.
To enter all you need to do is post up a picture of your creation in this thread, and tell us a little about your creation if you wish.
You can enter any bead, beaded or jewellery item. Don't forget that also covers/includes wire work, metal work, polymer clay, lampwork, accessories, trinkets, and jewellery etc!
All you need to remember is that you can only enter one piece (or set) per challenge.
The closing date is the last day of April.
Good luck, we look forward to seeing your entries.

Could you define "charm" please KK. Would that be something sold as charm or in a more wide sense, anything that dangles (for example beads put together to dangle from a charm bracelet, like the ones we donated for the anniversary bracelets). _________________ ...the spirit of an elf and the lifestyle of a hobbit

The chain is reclaimed from an old necklace that I no longer wear, and all the charms are made from lots of different things, shells, aventurine, silver, fresh water pearls and some little leaves that I think are plastic. There is also some green flourite on there too! some thing for everyone! I Have only been making jewelery for about 6 months and I am very happy with how ths turned out.

I love the necklace Kaylie, the combination of colours is lovely.
I haven't entered anything for a while and I hope I am not cheating now by entering something I made a while back. Early on in my attempts with wirework I was determined to make a kilt pin and eventually I sort of managed it, copper with beads from my stash

This is a Handbag Charm, or as I call them 'Dream A Wish' charm. An idea I had a few years ago.
'Dream a Wish' Charms - or can be used as
Handbag Charms - These are also great to hang in your Car,
- on your Desk
What to do with your 'Dream A Wish' Charm -
When you retire to bed - before going to sleep, hold your Charm
and make a wish, then hang it above your bed,
with luck, you will 'dream' about your wish, .....
and it might even come true...
EXCLUSIVE - 'DREAM A WISH' CHARMS ARE MY OWN DESIGN.
The one in the photo, I've just made for a good friend of mine.

this one was just a bit of fun- my friend commissioned " funky, mad, pink and purple charm bracelet"
I call this style a "loaded" charm bracelet as it is supposed to be fun bling- there is nothing subtle or sophisticated about it !
Oh and there is all sorts on it- plastic, fimo, shell and glass- oh and I just spotted a coloured metal bell too!
I love unusual commissions!lol _________________ Cathy

I love making charm bracelets and almost couldn't choose which one to enter.
This one is called "butterfly kisses" and was made for my sis in law who lives in germany, with a couple of charms that are personal to her. It's full of crystals, fwps, and lustre beads.

I made this early last October, as the birds were finishing off the berries on the Amelanchier in the garden. Lots of autumn leaves, with glistening berries hidden amongst them.
My wirework being dire, I had to do each of the wrapped loops at least twice to get them right, and even managed to get some of the wire bails wrong! Still, I persevered, and quite like the results. |

This charm bracelet was made with a mixture of glass beads in shades of lime green. It is called Spring because it reminds me of the first signs that Spring has arrived. I love making charm bracelets, they might take forever but I find they are really relaxing to make.
